About Bodie
Bodie started in a place most homeowners know well, standing in front of a file cabinet.
After decades of homeownership, we realized something uncomfortable. We did not actually know our home’s history. We constantly asked the same questions. Did we stain the deck last summer? When did we replace those upstairs windows? When was the chimney last cleaned? Is that refrigerator still under warranty, or did we miss it?
The information existed, somewhere. In folders. In drawers. In email. But it was scattered, hard to search, and almost impossible to use when a decision had to be made quickly.
So we built a simple internal web page where we could log service visits, upload receipts, and track home projects. Almost immediately, the value became obvious. For the first time, we could see patterns. We could compare costs year over year. We could remember which contractor we used and how to reach them. And we could stop guessing.
That simple tool evolved into Bodie.
